The Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington (PVNC) Catholic District School Board invites applications for the position of Uncertified Occasional Teachers (Elementary & Secondary)****.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

The Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic District School Board is currently seeking Uncertified Occasional Teachers to fill in for the daily absences of OCT certified classroom teachers. Successful candidates would join a PVNC Catholic community which is based on faith, hope and love as we constantly endeavour to offer excellence in Catholic education. We believe that members of our diverse community can help foster the creativity and wellness of our students, and contribute to our supportive and inclusive learning environments.

Under the direction and supervision of the Principal/Vice Principal, the Uncertified Occasional Teacher will be called in for daily assignments when no qualified supply teachers are available. Uncertified Occasional Teachers will support students within the classroom, provide supervision and respond appropriately to issues.

PVNCCDSB offers Uncertified Occasional Teachers a flexible work schedule along with the opportunity to gain experience working in our vibrant and dynamic schools.

What you’ll bring:

  • Completion of a 4-year university degree program, or nearing completion of a university degree program.
  • Experience working/volunteering with children and/or adolescents
  • Experience working with students with differing needs and capabilities is considered an asset.Experience working with students with different cultural backgrounds is considered an asset.
  • Ability to ensure the safety and security of students.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of student information.
  • Ability to work as a team player, follow instructions and use initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills. French language skills are considered an asset.
