About the role

Are you an engineer or technologist with a passion for electrical systems? Do you want your work to directly support Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy and the Royal Canadian Navy?

Fleetway Inc. is hiring a Senior Electrical Engineer or Technologist to join our team in Dartmouth, NS , Ottawa, ON , or Victoria, BC . In this role, you’ll contribute to the Halifax Class Design Agents program , delivering in-service support that keeps Canada’s fleet mission-ready.

  • Develop technical studies, drawings, and specifications for government and commercial vessels

  • Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop and short circuit analyses, cable sizing, and protective device selection/coordination

  • Evaluate electrical, control, and combat systems, components, and products

  • Prepare single-line and schematic diagrams for power, control, communication, and combat systems

  • Select appropriate equipment and write detailed technical reports

  • Incorporate engineering changes into existing designs

  • Support systems integration projects across various platforms

  • Conduct analyses of power distribution and communication systems

Education

A degree in Electrical Engineering or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology

Experience & Requirements

8+ years of hands-on experience of applicable experience

Skilled in the Microsoft Office Suite , including Word, Excel, and Outlook

Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and departments

Excellent organizational abilities with a detail-oriented mindset

Experience in Naval Warship design or marine defense projects is considered a strong asset

Engineering candidates must be licensed as a professional engineer (or engineer-in-training) with Engineers Nova Scotia and must maintain their licensure in good standing for the duration of their employment as an engineer.

Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain Canadian government security clearance .
