Why this role is important? Nature and Scope Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Manager, the Accounts Receivable Analyst is required to maintain assigned account receivable. In this role, the analyst will demonstrate a courteous and professional demeanor when interacting with customers, while remaining confident and assertive.
Principal Accountabilities
- Provide exemplary customer service via phone and email, adhering to Shoppers Drug Mart standard.
- Contact customer to discuss past due accounts, understand reasons for non-payment, and outline payment options.
- Ensure timely issuance and mailing of invoices.
- Process credit card payments and accurately apply payments to outstanding balances.
- Investigate and resolve payment discrepancies involving customer, insurance companies, pharmacies, and government ministries.
- Make necessary accounting adjustments reflecting customer insurance coverage and eligibility.
- Establish payment arrangements and follow up to ensure timely resolution of outstanding accounts.
- Monitor delinquent accounts and initiate collection processes as appropriate, including credit holds and referrals to collection agencies.
- Prepare account statement upon request and complete fiscal period end tasks.
- Complete and submit manual claims to payers and maintain accurate customer documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with internal departments to resolve billing and coverage issues.
- Log all communications and follow-up activities in Patient Connect Portal
- Meet or exceed defined performance objectives and targets on a regular basis
- Report all Adverse Events (AE) and Product Technical Complaints (PTC) immediately or as soon as possible upon becoming aware of the event as per current policies and procedures.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance departmental efficiency and productivity.
- Support cross-functional projects and ad-hoc tasks as needed.
Skills And Qualifications
- College diploma or University degree in Accounting.
- Minimum 2 years’ work experience in Account Receivable or Collections.
- Must be computer literate with the ability to learn new programs quickly; Proficiency with MS WORD and MS EXCEL is mandatory.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule daily activities while working under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and effectively with external customers.
- Customer-focused attitude with strong listening skills to understand customer needs.
- Capable of dealing effectively with a diverse range of people using judgement, tact, and sound decision-making skills, including in conflict situations.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to handle stress effectively and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to excellence and the quality process.
- Prior experience in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Experience with SAP system is preferred.
- Bilingual (French and English) is an asset.
