About the role
Job Summary
Provide preventive and therapeutic oral care to patients in a clinical dental setting. Collaborate with dental professionals to assess oral health, deliver treatment, and promote patient education.
Number of Positions
2 Main Duties Perform oral health assessments, chart findings, and identify periodontal disease and other oral conditions. Deliver preventive care including scaling, root planing, prophylaxis, and application of topical fluoride and sealants. Take, process, and review dental radiographs and other intraoral imaging in accordance with regulations. Provide patient education on oral hygiene, disease prevention, and post-treatment care tailored to individual needs. Prepare and maintain clinical records, document treatments, and manage patient charts accurately. Follow infection control, sterilization, and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe clinical environment.
Requirements
Diploma or degree in dental hygiene or dental therapy from an accredited program. Registration or licensure with the appropriate provincial regulatory authority permitting practice as a dental hygienist or dental therapist. Current CPR and basic life support certification. Up-to-date immunizations and ability to provide proof of relevant health checks as required. Demonstrated clinical experience in a dental practice or clinic setting, or completion of a clinical practicum. Willingness to undergo a criminal record check and meet professional regulatory requirements.
