Job Summary:
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of aircraft operations. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer will ensure reliability of aircraft through meticulous practices, adherence to regulations and continuous improvements.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Valid Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineers License with M1 (required), M2 License is an asset
- Experience on Beechcraft King Air B200, Pilatus PC12, Pilatus PC24, and Citation 560 aircraft type is an asset but not required
- Pilatus PC12 and PC24 experience an asset. Type Course Provided
- Citation 560 experience an asset. Training and Type Course Provided
- Have a strong knowledge of Transport Canada regulations
- Able to obtain Driving Airside License (D/A)
- Able to obtain and maintain Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC)
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Valid Canadian Passport required and able to travel abroad unrestricted
- Current Criminal Record Check
- Indigenous Awareness and/or Cultural Diversity training considered an asset
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Inspecting and maintaining aircraft systems: This includes engines, landing gear, instruments, and electronic systems
- Diagnosing and repairing issues: Mechanical and electronic problems are identified and fixed to ensure optimal performance
- Performing routine inspections: Preflight and postflight checks are conducted to comply with aviation standards and safety regulations
- Keeping detailed records: Maintenance, repair, and inspection activities are meticulously documented
- Operating diagnostic equipment: Testing aircraft structural soundness and systems
- Coordinating with team members: Ensuring efficient and safe aircraft operations through effective communication
- Maintaining facilities and equipment: Keeping the work environment and tools in optimal condition
- Perform other related activities, as necessary or as assigned by management
Working Conditions:
- Shift Work: 7 Day on 7 Day off Rotational position in Winnipeg. 2 weeks on and 2 Weeks off Rotational position in North locations. 12hrs shift days and evenings.
- Work in Hangars and Repair Stations including Airport Ramp that may require working directly on the tarmac, which can be exposed to various weather conditions.
- The work environment can be noisy due to aircraft engines and other machinery.
- Physical activities including, but not limited to lifting, sitting, standing, climbing and must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Physical demands include exposure and handling of hazardous materials such as fuels, oils, and chemicals, necessitating proper safety gear and procedures
