About The Role We’re hiring an AI Automation Engineer to design and build practical, AI-driven tools that improve internal workflows—especially across software development and operations. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to understand real problems, turn them into clear requirements, and deliver reliable applications.
This role is hands-on: you’ll build end-to-end solutions that combine LLM capabilities with solid software engineering (APIs, UI, data, validation, observability, and error handling).
Required to be on-site. Position Details
- Position Status: Full-Time, Permanent
- Location: Calgary, AB (NE)
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain internal tools using an AI-first development approach
- Translate operational needs into well-structured, maintainable applications and services
- Develop backend services, APIs, and user interfaces (full-stack delivery as needed)
- Implement reliable AI workflows that include prompting, business logic, validation, retries, and fallbacks
- Integrate solutions with existing systems, databases, and internal services
Experience And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- Experience building applications using LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic, or local models)
- Strong web development skills: HTML, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js; jQuery/Redux a plus)
- Experience working with SQL databases (queries, schema/data structures)
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Comfortable learning new tools/approaches and taking on new challenges
