The Communications Advisor - Social Media & Content Production is responsible for managing THP's social media channels, content production and contributing to the development and implementation of high quality, internal and external strategic communications programs in support of the organization’s strategic goals and priorities.
The ideal candidate is a creative and strategic individual who has experience with a broad range of communications tactics including developing social media plans, editorial calendars, content production, digital media and web support. This role requires someone who is an exceptional writer that can translate complex and technical information into clear and concise communications.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIE
- Manage day-to-day operations of social media channels: creating or producing engaging content, scheduling posts and maintaining the social media editorial calendar.
- Assist in implementing THP's social media strategy: reporting and analyzing performance data, capturing best practices and staying up to date on trends to improve metrics and shape strategy.
- Provide strategic communication advice and counsel to internal clients, to support the development of strategic social media and content.
- Required to go on-site and in the community as needed to produce content for THP’s social media channels.
- Support Media Relations staff on issues management involving social media.
- Partner with Patient Relations on social media relating to patient inquiries/issues.
- Listen, engage, and respond to questions, increasing engagement levels across platforms.
- Assist and develop detailed tactical communications plans aligned with the overall requirements of various internal projects/initiatives.
- Assist in the creation and development of a wide range of communication materials including newsletter articles, press releases, briefing notes, speaking notes, corporate memos and PowerPoint presentations for various internal and external communication initiatives.
- Be a part of the on-call team, occasionally supporting outside of regular hours.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- University and/or college degree in communications, public relations or journalism.
- 3+ years of experience in communications and public affairs.
- Strong writing, editing and production skills across a variety of social media channels. Good knowledge of current social media tools and strategies.
- Strong interpersonal and client management skills to work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including, senior leaders, clinical and operational program leader and front line staff, volunteers, media, government and community partners.
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment to manage and respond to issues, meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Results-oriented and client-focused with a commitment to excellence.
- Photography, videography and graphic design experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of provincial governments and Ministries of Health and Long-Term Care is an asset.
- Experience in a health care environment is an asset.
Position Location and Travel:
This role is hybrid with day to day work remote but will also have on-site requirements to produce content, attend special events and meet with clients. Must have access to vehicle to travel among the three main sites of Trillium Health Partners – Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga Hospital and Queensway Health Centre – as required.
