What We Do The Senior Wealth Advisor will play a key role establishing and maintaining strong relationships with high-net-worth clients. The Senior Wealth Advisor will manage and grow a dedicated client portfolio while creating comprehensive financial plans and providing exceptional client service. The incumbent will have a strong client relationship focus and will employ a holistic goals-based approach to help high net worth families develop a complete vision for their future.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Partner with clients and prospects to understand their objectives and what is important to them in setting financial goals
- Act as a concierge to clients to assist with their financial needs and ensure client satisfaction with a focus on retention of clients
- Provide regular updates to clients on investment strategies, capital markets and various other aspects of the client’s financial needs
- Be resourceful when determining solutions that will add value to the client’s long-term goals
- Able to develop investment and financial planning strategies for our clients on how to invest their portfolios and plan for long-term financial goals.
- Complete a deep discovery to understand clients financial and nonfinancial situation and what factors are important to them
- Leverage our financial planning software to put together a plan to address identified client needs and goals
- Continuously review and update client plans as material changes occur throughout various life stage
- Develop and maintain long-term client relationships
- Ensure clients receive the appropriate levels of service, including meetings, planning, reporting, and responses to requests/questions
- Proactively contact existing clients to educate them about investment strategies, products and services to help them grow their portfolios
- Identify, execute and follow up on opportunities to gather additional client assets while providing client centered discussions.
- Increase number of clients doing business with Fidelity
- May include travel across Canada
- Work closely with the Sales Development VP in the onboarding process of new books of business and the accompanying clients.
- In collaboration with Sales Development VP, successfully on-board new clients while minimizing attrition of clients
- Strong understanding of internal operational model
- Meet with the advisor and understand the existing client relationships as part of the transition process; collaborate to best manage the transition
- Provide guidance and direction to Wealth Advisor(s)
- Mentor (Junior) Wealth Advisors to build a development pipeline
- Strategize ways to increase prospects, client penetration and overall book of business
- Increase the number of clients doing business with Fidelity advisors
What You’ll Need
- Exceptional communication skills; verbal and written; ability to articulate financial planning concepts clearly and succinctly
- In-depth understanding of product structures, capital markets and investments
- Ability to position appropriate products and investments in the context of current needs as well as clients’ long-term financial plans.
- Excellent relationship management skills and client-centric focus
- Outstanding attention to detail and constant commitment to excellence
What We’re Looking For
- Completion of a University degree in Business, Commerce, Finance or related field or equivalent work experience
- 7+ years of experience in investment management experience and advising retail and high-net worth clients
- Strong Investment management experience and Financial planning experience
- Bilingual in English/French is an asset
- Obtained CFA or CIM and LLQP designations
- Additional designations such as CFP, MBA are an asset
- Must be licensed as an Registered Representative (RR) and have the ability to sell both mutual funds and securities
- Must meet IIROC proficiency requirements
- Registered as Portfolio Manager (PM) or ability to be licensed as one is an asset
