What you will do:
As a caring, responsible health care team member, you will support clients to be as safe and independent in home care settings, as possible, helping them to live their best lives. You will act as a liaison between the client and the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, in addition to assisting with the Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist's caseloads. You will be supporting clients with their rehabilitative programs, as well as processing and performing clerical audits for discharged patient charts.
What you will need to be successful:
- You possess a post-secondary diploma as a Physiotherapy/Occupational Therapy/Rehabilitation Assistant or Kinesiology degree is preferred.
- You have a general knowledge of mobility aids and assistive equipment. Your focus is to embrace and support person and family-centered care.
- You are passionate, empathetic, use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making decisions.
- You are known for your excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently.
- You value the role a therapist plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance.
- A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 6 months.
- Proof of a negative TB test.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification
- Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, with ability to communicate in other languages an asset.
- Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg)
