Our dedicated staff deliver services, operate facilities and run the programs that enhance the well-being of our community.
The District of West Vancouver Community Services Department is accepting applications for Music Instructors to teach our group music lessons and private music lessons. These include, but are not limited to: piano, violin, drums, flute, cello, ukulele, vocal and guitar instructors. This position is based out of the Seniors’ Activity Centre and will involve working with a client group aged 55+. Evening and weekend hours are required for this position.
The successful candidates will have professional training in music, substantial experience as instructors with their respective instruments, knowledge of community recreation philosophies and instruction techniques, and experience working with children and adults. Desirable qualifications include a university degree in music or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
All applicants must provide a cover letter, resume, and a sample lesson plan for a 3 week/session class or program to be taught.
The successful candidate is required to supply a police information check with vulnerable sector and a copy of their credentials.
Position Status:
Non-Union – Casual
Hours of Work:
Days and hours of work may vary.
Starting Rate of Pay:
$31.00 per hour plus 4% in lieu of benefits. This position offers a competitive wage based on experience and qualifications.
