About the role
The Manager, Solutions Engineering is a high-impact leadership role responsible for technical aspects of the pre-sales customer lifecycle. This individual will oversee the development of customer solutions, winning technical proposals, and engineering oversight of products that support our core instrumentation product. Beyond technical solutions, this role is also a key driver of understanding customer requirements and translating them into actionable insights for the rest of the organization.
Responsibilities

Provide technical direction and systems design leadership within the Seismic Instruments and Systems Business Unit

Maintain high level contacts with existing and potential customers and develop strong connections, driving customer engagement with key decision makers

Assist in the high-level management of complex development projects via feature definition and prioritization

Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Product Management, Service Delivery and R&D to improve our products, services and operations
-
Develop and maintain key metrics and analyses to improve business performance (e.g. bookings, technical win-rate)

Lead technical aspects of proposal support and supporting materials
-
Approximately 20% travel may be required in this position

REQUIREMENTS
-
Education: Bachelor’s of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical or Software Engineering, or related field. A master's level degree is an asset.

Experience: 5+ years in Technical Operations, Applications Engineering, or Engineering Development, preferably in a hardware/software technical environment. 2+ years in technical leadership position.

Operational Skills: Proven track record of managing complex project timelines and competing priorities.

Analytical Skills: Proficiency in work management systems (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet) and data visualization tools to track and report on KPIs and Key Results.

Leadership: Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and external and internal stakeholders.
ASSETS

Experience in converting complex technical problem into executable solutions

Previous experience in a formal pre-sales, technical sales, or consultative engineering role where you directly influenced buying decisions.

A track record of mentoring junior engineers or scaling technical processes within an engineering operations team.

Direct experience and/or certification demonstrating ability in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
-
Experience in Seismology, Geophysics or related fields.

Salary Information
The expected salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000, plus a corporate discretionary bonus. The determination of an applicant’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s skills, competencies, and experience for the position.
