Primary Responsibilities We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EDI Supervisor to oversee the planning, implementation, and daily maintenance of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) solutions across our organization and trading partners. This role will be responsible for managing end-to-end EDI projects, designing integration workflows, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize data exchange processes. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT, etc.), experience working with SPS Commerce, and has excellent leadership abilities. Essential Functions
- Support and participate in food safety programs including SQF (Safe Quality Food).
- Lead the design, development, deployment, and support of EDI integrations with external partners and internal systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all EDI-related initiatives, ensuring timely and accurate data exchange.
- Manage incidents related to EDI (investigation, troubleshooting, escalation, resolution, reporting and analysis of incidents) for all business lines.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical EDI specifications and mapping documentation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., logistics, finance, customer service, procurement) to streamline operations through automation and integration.
- Coordinate onboarding of new EDI trading partners, including testing and validation of transactions.
- Monitor and troubleshoot EDI workflows, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain business continuity.
- Maintain compliance with EDI standards, industry regulations, and partner-specific requirements.
- Develop and enforce integration best practices, documentation standards, and change management protocols.
- Mentor and guide junior EDI analysts or developers, as applicable.
Required Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with EDI technologies and integrations with 3 rd party partners.
- Deep understanding of EDI standards (X12, EDIFACT, TRADACOMS) and communication protocols (AS2, FTP/SFTP, VAN, API).
- Working Knowledge with SPS Commerce and CommerceHub
- Proficiency in mapping tools (e.g., IBM Sterling, GXS/Inovis, Cleo, Boomi, MuleSoft, etc.).
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP (IDoc), Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred
- Experience leading EDI onboarding teams or projects.
- Knowledge of supply chain, logistics, retail, or manufacturing industries.
- Familiarity with cloud-based integration platforms (iPaaS).
- Certification in EDI or related integration platforms.
