About the Role
As an Ocean Import Operations Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing international shipments from origin to final delivery. Working closely with customers, overseas offices, carriers, and customs authorities, you’ll ensure freight moves efficiently while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
-Coordinate end-to-end ocean import shipments while ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant. -Communicate proactively with customers, overseas offices, shipping lines, trucking providers, and customs brokers to provide shipment updates. -Prepare and submit CBSA eManifest filings in accordance with Canadian customs regulations. Review shipping documentation including House Bills of Lading (HBLs), arrival notices, customs documentation, shipping instructions, and delivery orders for accuracy. -Enter shipment information into CargoWise and other operating systems while maintaining a high level of data accuracy. -Prepare customer quotations and develop an understanding of ocean freight pricing and market conditions. -Process customer invoicing accurately and within required timelines. -Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, and operational issues through effective problem-solving and communication. -Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone and email. -Build strong working relationships with customers, overseas offices, and service providers while delivering exceptional customer service.

What We’re Looking Forever
Required Qualifications
-Post-secondary education (college diploma or university degree) is required. Preference will be given to candidates with education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field. -Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. -Knowledge of Canadian customs regulations and the CBSA eManifest program, or the ability to quickly learn and apply CBSA compliance requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
-Previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, transportation, or customer service. -Experience preparing and submitting CBSA eManifest filings is considered a strong asset. -Experience using CargoWise or another freight forwarding software platform is an asset. -Familiarity with international shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, arrival notices, customs documentation, etc. -Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.

Mainfreight Limited began its operations in Auckland, New Zealand in 1978. Founded by Bruce Plested who started the company with just NZD$7000.00 and a 1969 Bedford Truck. He was later joined by Neil Graham. When the company was founded it entered a highly regulated transport market. A license from New Zealand Railways Corporation was needed to carry freight over 150 km.
