What You Will Do As an FPGA Hardware Design Intern , you will be responsible using Altera IPs such as PCIe, Emif, Ethernet and stitch system level designs using Altera FPGA devkits. You will help in designing and bring-up of complete system level designs including software.
Key responsibilities on the Hardware team depending on project roles:
- Help in HW design, verification and hardware debug/bring-up of features
- Development of SoC (CPU+FPGA) based system designs to demonstrate key device features
- Scripting HW development flow and automation
- FPGA-based Board Support Package development and optimization
- New product release and rollout support
- Interactions with local and remote teams as well as customers
What We Want To See
- Pursuing a University Degree (e.g. EE, CE, CS or related fields)
- Digital design skills (FPGA or ASIC), using Verilog/VHDL and related design flows
- Software skills (C/C++)
- Scripting knowledge (e.g. Python, Tcl)
- Thirst for learning and a good self-starter
- Loves working as part of a team, with excellent communication skills
Our compensation is designed to reflect the Canadian labour market. The actual salary offered may vary based on several factors, including the position’s location, as well as the candidate’s experience, skills, training, and job-specific knowledge. In addition to base salary, we offer performance-based incentive opportunities that reward both individual contributions and overall company success.
Estimated Salary Range: $90K – $95K CAD We use artificial intelligence to screen, assess, or select applicants for the position. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Canadian work experience is not required for this role.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or similar.
- 3+ months of experience or coursework in one, or more, of the following: software programming and/or scripting (e.g. C/C++, Python), digital logic, RTL design (e.g. SystemVerilog, Verilog, VHDL), or similar
Preferred Qualifications
- FPGA design experience
- Experience with RTL simulation, timing closure, STA
- Experience with Memory Interfaces, High-speed ADC/DAC, or Transceiver Protocols (e.g. Ethernet, PCIe)
