Interior Health is hiring a relief part time (0.80 FTE) Life Skills Outreach Worker to join our Mental Health Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) team in Kamloops, B.C. This relief position is until the return of the incumbent.

What will you work on?
This position is a member of a multi-disciplinary Mental Health and Addictions Team providing a comprehensive array of services within a psycho social rehabilitation framework to adults with serious and persistent mental illness and/or within a harm reduction framework for those with substance use problems/disorders and who experience severe challenges in daily living as a result. This position will provide these services offering a variety of rehabilitative and treatment modalities inclusive of outreach, community and facility care.
Scheduling Information:
Shifts of work are days and shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours. Days of work are Monday to Thursday.

Early Psychosis Intervention (EPI) is an evidence based, specialized, holistic and recovery-based approach to providing services to individuals and their families/partners in care affected by first episode psychosis or at risk of experiencing psychosis.
Our goal is to notice the signs of psychosis early and provide support and treatment as soon as possible.
We strive to improve services for young people, and their families, who are in the early stages of psychosis. The program bridges youth and adult mental health services, as well as the hospital and community.

Education, Training and Experience:

Mental Health Worker Certificate or Human Services Worker Certificate or Addictions Worker Certification
-
Two years recent related experience working with individuals living with mental illness, and/or substance use problems/disorders; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
-
Basic First Aid Certificate
-
Non-violent crisis intervention training
-
Current valid BC Driver’s License (Class 5)
