What is the Opportunity?
As an IT Program Lead within the Cash Management Technology team, you will oversee and drive the delivery of high-complexity initiatives related to Virtual Account Management (VAM) and Liquidity Management (LMS). Collaborating closely with our software vendor, cross-functional teams within Technology & Operations (T&O), and our Cash Management Business Partners , you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of these strategic programs. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the end-to-end technology delivery, ensuring that objectives are achieved within the approved scope, timeline, and budget, while aligning with the organization’s strategic goals.
What Will You Do?
- Manage programs and projects in alignment with RBC’s project management discipline , adhering to the Agile Management Framework (AMF).
- Lead cross-functional delivery teams spanning T&O domains across Commercial Banking to ensure the successful implementation of VAM and LMS initiatives within the expected timelines.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with RBC business and T&O partners to ensure alignment between business objectives and technology delivery.
- Drive robust program governance by providing executive-level status updates, proactively managing program risks and issues, and implementing appropriate mitigation and resolution strategies.
- Identify opportunities to enhance program delivery processes by adopting and implementing best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by integrating lessons learned into future initiatives and encouraging innovation.
- Resolve complex challenges by leveraging established governance frameworks and escalating issues as necessary.
- Develop and track program and project performance metrics to measure success and identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee program financials, including cost forecasting and schedule management, while mentoring project managers and Scrum Masters on risk-based provisions and scope management using data-driven metrics.
What Do You Need to Succeed?
Must-Have:
- 5+ years of experience managing programs or multiple projects with budgets exceeding $10MM, involving enterprise-wide impact and high levels of complexity and uncertainty.
- Proven leadership capabilities with a track record of successfully delivering complex initiatives.
- Experience managing programs or projects involving significant technology change, including third-party vendor management and multiple system integrations.
- Advanced impact and influencing skills to drive delivery through cross-functional teams.
- Strong expertise in governance reporting, with advanced communication, presentation, and facilitation skills, including experience communicating with senior executives.
- A progressive career path in technology with demonstrated success in program delivery.
Nice-to-Have:
- Undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or CSM, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working with Cash Management solutions.
