What is the opportunity?
This is an exciting opportunity within the Wealth Management Platform Financial Control team. The Manager, Wealth Management Financial Control will act as the subject matter expert and key Finance point of contact to provide oversight and governance for RBC’s financial reporting activities across Wealth Management. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong accounting and analytical acumen, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a passion for operational excellence and process enhancement. This individual will support internal and external reporting, disclosure requirements and control framework, as well as seek opportunities to streamline existing processes and lead ad-hoc projects, while liaising and collaborating with various stakeholders across the Enterprise.
What will you do?

Responsible for ongoing design, implementation, and maintenance of key financial reporting and control processes within the Wealth Management Platform while staying agile by adapting to changing business needs and reporting requirements.

The position requires good understanding of financial reporting requirement, ongoing communication with regional Line of Business Financial Control teams in various geographic locations is required to resolve reporting differences / issues

Responsible for assisting the implementation of new accounting requirements including assessing reporting implications, designing, and coordinating data collection processes and reporting templates, actively exploring report automation opportunities, communicating and providing guidance to finance units on new reporting requirements.

Manage the accurate and timely execution of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, with oversight on consolidated Wealth Management disclosures and results.

Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with global finance teams, CFO Controls Office, and other finance stakeholders to streamline the sharing of financial information and leverage best practices to improve processes across all regions.

Manage the control environment oversight risk rating processes across various regions and lines of businesses, providing senior management with consolidated insights on key risk areas and opportunities.

Oversee Wealth Management global internal control framework, coordinating key control inventory updates for SOX testing and reporting on internal audit metrics, including SOX deficiencies and self-identified issues.

Proactively support ad-hoc senior management requests, providing meaningful financial insights, analytics, and recommendations.

Work with internal and external auditors as required and support audit deliverables and issues are resolved effectively.

Identify and implement automation and process-efficiency opportunities to enhance Finance operational excellence.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

Professional designation (CPA required)

At least 3 years relevant reporting/business experience

Strong leadership, people management, problem solving and collaboration skills.

Strong technical skills including advanced excel skills.

Highly motivated, collaborative, and self-starter attitude.

Ability to manage numerous priorities amidst tight deadlines.
-
Strong proficiency with computer applications, such as Excel (vlookups, data validation, macros), PowerPoint and workflow design tools (Visio).
Nice-to-have
- Strong knowledge of RBC systems, products and associated procedures
- Having worked with various automation tools and large data set.
- Experience with Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server and SQL
