DELEGATED CONSULTANT - 1782
Regular Full Time Position – Global
Base Office Location: Open
Salary – $85,565.62 - $97,635.82 (35 hrs. per week)
POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Director of Practice, the Consultant is responsible for providing case consultation, training, research and mentoring to Child safety, Child Protection, Resources, Out of Care, Guardianship, and Permanency practice. They will assist in ensuring staff have the required knowledge, skills and supports to deliver the highest quality of service to children and families. The Delegated Consultant serves and responds to concerns/needs of the staff, supervisors and the needs of multi-disciplinary teams. Organizes case conferencing and conducts practice audits as required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- A minimum of 5 years working with Indigenous families and communities in a child welfare setting. Experience in developing/providing training and group facilitation.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work or in a related human services field. Ability to obtain delegation in the province of British Columbia.
- Demonstrates practical knowledge and intersectionality of the various acts and legislations, including but not limited to:
- An Act Respecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis Children, Youth and Families
- Child, Family and Community Service Act
- AOPSI Standards
- Adoption Act
- Family Law Act
- Demonstrates the ability to receive feedback and to adapt to changing priorities.
- Willingness to modify work schedule to accommodate variable and extended hours.
- Ability to resolve conflict in professional and respectful ways
- Criminal Records check required.
- Must have valid B.C. Driver’s Licence without restrictions

FUNCTIONS:
- Provides clinical consultation to Child safety, Family Strengthening, Resources, Out of Care, Guardianship, and Permanency Social Workers, Team Leaders and Director’s dealing with serious, complex and contentious cases
- Reviews referred cases and provides recommendations to support the assigned teams working with the children/families.
- Co-ordinates Integrated Case Management Conferences and support for complex cases.
- Provides guidance and reviews in all practice areas.
- Provides recommendations to the multi-disciplinary teams
- Supports training in policy, Xyólheméylh’s vision and values, Acts, regulations, standards and procedures.
- Demonstrates a strong ability to develop curriculum, write lesson plans and deliver presentations and training
- Collaborates with the training department to determine training and mentorship needs.
- Works with leadership and staff to support individual learning needs.
- Provides guidance, support and encouragement to help employees improve their job performance.
- Mentors and supports staff in completing field guides throughout the delegation process.
- Gathers and shares information related to policy changes and updates
- Coordinates and facilitates complex case consults for Child safety, Family Strengthening, Resources, Out of Care, Guardianship, and Permanency teams
- Conducts practice audits as required or as scheduled
- Conducts case reviews as needed.
- Provides consultation and coordination functions for Interprovincial Agreements and requests
- Acts as the liaison between FVACFSS and community partners
- Attends and participates in community events, which may encompass public speaking.
- Establishes relationships with community partners, provincial, federal and non-governmental agencies to enhance the delivery of services to Indigenous children and families
