NOTICE OF VACANCY

POSITION: OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY/PHYSIOTHERAPY ASSISTANT

Primary Sites: Seaforth/Clinton

Regular Part-Time

(Shifts: 8 – hour days, 7 days/week)

REPORTS TO: Manager, Therapies & Professional Practice

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $30.02 to $31.89 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduate of recognized Rehabilitation or Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist Assistant Program

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience working with inpatients and outpatients in the areas of rehabilitation, medicine,

complex continuing care, stroke, surgery and critical care

ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to function in an interprofessional team model

  • Ability to determine priorities and manage time effectively

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, decision making skills

  • Computer, word processing skills

  • Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications

  • Knowledge of anatomy, therapeutic modalities and exercise, disabling conditions, health

Sciences

  • Valid Ontario drivers’ license and ability to travel among sites, as required
