We are seeking a technically strong and highly relationship-driven Sales Engineer to lead the development of our engineering and contractor relationships across the Okanagan and Northern British Columbia.
This role is based in Kelowna, BC and represents a strategic position within our commercial HVAC business. The successful candidate will act as a trusted technical advisor to consulting engineers and mechanical contractors, helping guide system design, equipment selection, and successful project delivery.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys influencing projects from concept through construction, solving technical challenges, and building long-term partnerships within the mechanical industry.
You will work with leading HVAC technologies and collaborate closely with engineers, contractors, developers, and internal technical teams to deliver high-performing mechanical systems.

What you will accomplish with us:
Support Engineering Design & Specification (60%)

Build strong relationships with consulting engineers across the Okanagan and Northern BC.

Provide technical expertise during the design and specification phase of commercial mechanical projects.

Assist engineers in developing system concepts, equipment selections, and application strategies.
-
Collaborate with project teams to ensure equipment selections align with design requirements, performance goals, and project constraints.

Deliver technical presentations, lunch-and-learn sessions, and educational seminars to consulting firms.

Serve as a technical resource for system design questions, performance analysis, and application guidance.
Support Contractors & Project Delivery (40%)

Develop relationships with mechanical contractors responsible for installing and delivering projects.

Provide guidance on equipment selection, installation considerations, and system performance.
-
Support contractors throughout the project lifecycle including quotations, equipment selection, and site coordination.

Assist with troubleshooting, system optimization, and field support when required.

Work with internal teams to ensure projects move efficiently from specification through delivery.
Territory Responsibility
This role will oversee the Okanagan region and Northern British Columbia, with Kelowna serving as the home base.
The territory includes markets such as:

Kelowna

Kamloops
-
Vernon
-
Penticton
-
Southern Interior and parts of Kootenays
-
Prince George
-
Northern BC communities
Candidates must be comfortable managing relationships and projects across a large geographic territory.
What You Bring to Our Team:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent HVAC technical experience.
-
7+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
-
HVAC engineering or system design;
-
Technical HVAC sales;
-
Equipment application or system selection;
-
Mechanical consulting or estimating.

Strong familiarity with commercial HVAC equipment and mechanical systems is required.

Experience working directly with consulting engineers and mechanical contractors is highly preferred.

Strong technical understanding of commercial HVAC system design and equipment applications.

Ability to influence engineering decisions through technical expertise and relationship building.

Excellent presentation and communication skills.
-
Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders.

Highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving ability with a practical approach to mechanical systems.
-
Comfortable working independently within a large geographic territory.
Location Requirement
Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Kelowna region.
Compensation
Base Salary Range of $85,000 - $110,000 + Uncapped Commission + Bonus, based on experience
