Role Description The Dispatch Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Winnipeg, MB, responsible for overseeing daily dispatch operations and coordinating driver assignments. This position schedules routes, monitors delivery timelines, and adjusts plans as needed to meet service commitments and safety requirements. The Dispatch Supervisor serves as a key point of contact between drivers, customers, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of service issues. The role includes supervising dispatch staff, supporting adherence to DOT and company policies, and maintaining accurate records of trips, incidents, and equipment usage. The Dispatch Supervisor also contributes to process improvements, supports training initiatives, and helps uphold Tornado Haulers Ltd.’s standards for reliability and customer service.

Qualifications

Demonstrated Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, performance monitoring, and coaching in an operations or logistics environment. Hands-on Dispatching experience, with the ability to plan routes, assign drivers, and manage real-time changes in schedules. Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact professionally with drivers, customers, and colleagues and to resolve issues effectively. Working knowledge of DOT Regulations and transportation safety standards, with a commitment to compliance and risk mitigation. Experience in trucking, freight, or logistics operations; familiarity with dispatch or fleet management software is an asset. Solid organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the capacity to make sound decisions under time constraints. High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in logistics, transportation, or related field is an advantage. Ability to work on-site in Winnipeg, MB, including occasional extended hours based on operational needs.
