What You Can Expect
The HR Manager serves as the primary HR Business Partner and on-site HR leader for the Montreal location. This role is accountable for delivering end-to-end HR partnership to site leadership while ensuring full compliance with Quebec and Canadian employment standards. The HR Manager balances strategic advisory work with hands-on execution across employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement.
How You'll Create Impact
HR Business Partnering
- Act as the primary HR advisor to site leadership, partnering on workforce planning, organizational design, talent strategy, and change management
- Coach leaders on performance management, employee engagement, succession planning, and leadership effectiveness
- Translate enterprise HR strategies into practical, site-level execution
Site HR Leadership
- Serve as the on-site HR lead for the Montreal location, providing day-to-day HR support and visible leadership presence for employees and managers
- Own and drive site-level employee engagement, partnering with leaders to assess engagement trends, identify root causes, and implement targeted action plans
- Lead and support engagement initiatives including listening sessions, pulse surveys, action planning, and follow-through on commitments
- Coach leaders on inclusive leadership behaviors that strengthen trust, morale, and retention
- Champion a strong, inclusive, and compliant workplace culture aligned with company values
- Act as the local point of contact for corporate HR Centers of Excellence (Talent, Total Rewards, HR Operations, Employee Relations)
Employee Relations & Compliance
- Manage employee relations matters including investigations, corrective action, performance improvement, and conflict resolution
- Ensure compliance with Quebec labor laws, CNESST requirements, employment standards, and internal policies
- Partner with Legal and Corporate HR on complex or sensitive cases
Talent & Performance Management
- Partner with leaders on hiring strategy, onboarding, internal mobility, and retention efforts
- Support annual performance cycles, goal setting, talent reviews, and development planning
- Identify skill gaps and partner on learning and development solutions
HR Operations & Process Excellence
- Ensure accurate execution of HR processes including onboarding, offboarding, job changes, leave management, benefit and policy administration,
- Health and Safety advisory support
- Use HR data and insights to identify trends, including engagement and retention drivers, and recommend actions
- Continuously improve HR processes to enhance employee and leader experience
Project Management & Change Delivery
- Lead and manage site-level HR projects from initiation through execution and stabilization (e.g., engagement initiatives, workforce changes, policy rollouts, system/process implementations)
- Partner cross-functionally with site leadership, Corporate HR, and other functions to ensure successful delivery and adoption
- Support change management efforts by ensuring leaders and employees are informed, prepared, and supported through transitions
What Makes You Stand Out
- You have CHRP or CRHA designation
- You have experience supporting a manufacturing, operations, or multi-shift site environment
- You have experience leading employee engagement initiatives at the site level
- You have proven experience advising leaders and handling employee relations matters independently
Your Background
- You have Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- You have 5–8+ years of progressive HR experience, including HR Business Partner or Site HR responsibilities
- You have strong working knowledge of Quebec employment law and Canadian HR practices
- You have fluency in French and English (spoken and written)
