Job Description

This is a fixed-term position with an expected end date of July 2027.

The Benefits Specialist is responsible for supporting the administration and coordination of employee benefit programs, workers’ compensation, and guest incident management. The position ensures employees receive timely and accurate assistance with benefits, leaves, and claims while maintaining compliance with Canadian legislation and internal policies. This position will report to the Director of Benefits, North America with local oversight by the Area HRBP.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.

  • Administer Canadian benefits programs (health, dental, life, disability, RRSP).

  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial legislation (ESA, health regulations).

  • Support annual benefits enrollment and related communications.

  • Administer statutory and company leave programs (sick, medical, parental).

  • Track and document leaves accurately in accordance with provincial regulations.

  • Collaborate with HR, management, and vendors for smooth leave processing and return-to-work plans.

  • Manage WSIB claims, ensuring timely documentation and submission.

  • Communicate with employees, managers, and adjusters to support safe return-to-work plans.

  • Monitor and document workplace and guest incident reports for compliance.

  • Assist with benefits invoicing, reporting, audits, and annual renewals.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to work efficiently and with precision, especially with numbers
  • Ability to effectively communicate
  • Data entry skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
  • Solid organizational, multitasking and time management skills
  • Administrative experience preferred
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Compensation

  • Compensation for this role is CAD $24.00-$26.00 hourly
