Casual Parking Attendant

We are currently seeking a motivated, reliable, and outgoing team players to join our Atlantic Canada team as a Casual Parking Attendant, based at one of our hospital locations in downtown Halifax.

WORK SCHEDULE:
Shift hours will vary depending on operational needs. Shifts may include early mornings, daytime, evenings, and overnight coverage, and can range from 6 to 12 hours in length. Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
Access to reliable transportation is required. A valid Canadian driver’s license (Class 5) and clean driving abstract is required with a minimum of three years driving experience.
The ideal candidate has the ability to solve problems, the ability to interact with the public and clients in a professional, empathetic and courteous manner, and is a great communicator.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
OPERATIONS:
- Greeting and welcoming guests to the property
- Actively direct traffic at the busiest entrances and exits
- Issue warnings and/or parking tickets to repeat offenders
- Answering help calls to assist customers remotely
- Making and issuing appropriate parking rebate tickets
- Parking and retrieving vehicles in a timely fashion
- Operating vehicles safely in confined areas and narrow spaces
- Performing accurate inspections of vehicles for damage prior to taking into custody
- Issue and collect valet tickets as required
- Ensuring safe custody of keys in locked key box
- Ensuring vehicles are locked after parking
- Cleaning the work area, and parking area as needed, including key sanitization and litter pick up
- Answering any questions that guests may have (providing directions, etc.)
- Responsible for adhering to all company policies and procedures.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP:
- Build positive relationships with customers
- Note the nature of complaints received by customers, and actively help, develop and suggest solutions
- Communicate verbally with customers and clients in English
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- High level of interpersonal skills, including poise and diplomacy
- Previous customer service experience
- Previous valet experience considered an asset
- Good communication skills, both verbally and written
- Strong work ethic and commitment to customer service
- Ability to work with a team
- Able to work outside in all weather (free uniform provided)
- A valid Canadian driver’s license (Class 5) and clean driving abstract
- A minimum of three years driving experience
- Able to operate a vehicle in confined spaces without damage
- Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles is an asset
