Team Overview

Dave is looking for a talented engineer to play an instrumental role in building products that help millions of people improve their relationship with money. We're looking for a passionate software engineer interested in full stack development. The Acquisition Growth team drives member acquisition and user onboarding through experimentation, A/B testing, and data-driven decisions. You'll contribute to Dave's growth by developing features for subscription management and onboarding, directly impacting how new users engage with our financial tools.

What You’ll Do:

  • We’re looking for talented full stack engineers to play an instrumental role in executing well-defined features that contribute to our platforms and products that help millions of people
  • Full stack web/mobile application development in Javascript and Typescript
  • Partners with PM and design teams, under guidance, to define feature specifications and build products leveraging frameworks such as React & React Native
  • Participate in the design and development of fully-tested APIs that will interface with multiple services
  • Delivers consistent high-quality code by shipping incrementally across multiple PRs
  • Write unit and integration tests to promote squad-owned quality
  • Work closely with operations and infrastructure to build and scale back-end services
  • Regularly participate in code reviews and other team functions

What You’ll Need:

  • A graduate with a BS or MS from a computer science or similar program. Other majors will be considered in conjunction with appropriate related experience and/or training.
  • 2+ years of experience in software development
  • Strong CS fundamentals and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Experience programming in one or more general purpose programming languages, including but not limited to: JavaScript, Java, Python, C/C++ or Go
  • Experience with the Dave Tech Stack is a plus: Typescript (Runs on Node.js), MySQL, Google Cloud Platform, React Native, React
  • Effective communication skills, a positive attitude, and ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • The ability to understand and participate in discussions about system architecture and component design led by senior engineers

Location Requirement: This role is open to candidates based in Ontario or British Columbia, Canada.
