About the role
As a Yield Accounting Analyst, you will support the Saint John Refinery by ensuring accurate reporting of daily volume and weight inventory, as well as refinery production balances. Your goal will be to provide timely and precise data that enables stakeholders to make informed decisions. Your success will come from maintaining accuracy, consistency, and clarity in all reports, while collaborating effectively with internal teams to uphold operational integrity.

Your Responsibilities:
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and implement advances
- Keep current with Yield Accounting software and the other various software/systems used in gathering Yield Accounting data
- Assist with special projects as required
- Gather and validate product movement data from Refinery and Canaport sources for entry into the Yield Accounting software (AORA)
- Reconcile all tanks, and units in AORA
- Deliver timely reports to and participate in meetings with stakeholders
- Analyze and balance weekly/monthly summary reports using Microsoft Excel and Access
- Monitor tank imbalances and vessel movements
- Summarize information for future audits and assist in gathering information for special projects
- Communicate with engineers to reduce inaccuracies and update units, and meters in AORA when required
- Contribute to the creation of departmental procedures and training documents
- Support team leader with daily reconciliations in AORA with minimal assistance
- Provide support and coverage for positions within the department
Your Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work both in a collaborative team approach and on an individual basis
- Proactive and able to effectively build relationships
- Intermediate level or higher of Microsoft excel and/or a willingness to learn formulas and macros for reporting purposes
- Ability to mentor
Your Experience:
- Bachelors or Diploma in Business Administration
- 3 to 5 years of accounting, analytical or reporting experience
- Refinery, Canaport, product movement knowledge would be considered an asset
