Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Metal product fabrication industry. Platework manufacturing company. Structural steel fabrication company. Tasks: Check products for correct shapes, dimensions and other specifications. Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment. Cut, bend, roll, ream, punch, drill, weld or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products. Document work completed. Investigate problems to fix or make minor repair. Lay out, set up and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines. Read and interpret specifications or follow verbal instructions. Select and transport material to work area manually or using crane or hoist. Equipment and machinery experience: AutoCAD. Brakes. Drills. Lifting device. Overhead crane. Saws. Shears. Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Metal forming or shaping operations experience: Cutting machine. Transportation/travel information: Own vehicle. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Fast-paced environment. Handling heavy loads. Work under pressure. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Safety glasses/goggles. Steel-toed safety boots. Tools. Employment terms options: Early morning. Morning. Experience: 5 years or more. Employment terms options: Day.
