Job Description – Utility Services Construction Skilled Laborer
Join Our Team as a Utility Services Construction Skilled Laborer at America Fujikura Limited (AFL)
Locations: Calgary, Airdrie, Carstairs, Didsbury

What You'll Do: As a Utility Skilled Labourer at AFL, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting crew in construction
- Loading and unloading tools, equipment, and supplies daily with equipment.
- Setting up safe work zones: traffic flagging, opening manholes, using gas detectors
- Working outdoors year-round in rural areas
- Maintaining, cleaning, and inspecting assigned vehicles and equipment
- Following all safety procedures and work instructions given by Foreman or Manager
- Completing physically demanding tasks, sometimes in confined spaces
- Assisting with landscaping tasks on job sites
- Performing other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking for:
- Valid Class 5 Non GDL License
- Willingness to travel to various project sites within Calgary, Edmonton and other rural areas.
- Previous experience in utility work, construction, or telecommunications is an asset.
- Reliable, punctual, and dependable
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the utility construction industry.
- Comfortable working outdoors year-round and in confined spaces
- Safety certifications (First Aid, Confined Space Entry) are an asset.
