About the role

Senior Architectural Millwork Detailer (AutoCAD)

Mississauga, ON | Full-Time | On-Site

Build the Projects Others Think Can't Be Built. We're looking for an experienced Senior Architectural Millwork Detailer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges and transforming architectural concepts into precise, fabrication-ready shop drawings.

This is not a design role. You will take the vision created by architects and designers and determine exactly how it will be manufactured, assembled, and installed. Working closely with Project Managers, Production, CNC, and Installation teams, you'll play a critical role in delivering custom architectural millwork for high-profile commercial environments.

If you thrive on technical problem solving, understand how custom millwork is built, and enjoy working on one-of-a-kind projects rather than repetitive production work, we'd like to speak with you.

About the Role

As a Senior Architectural Millwork Detailer, you'll be responsible for producing complete production drawing packages that guide projects from concept through manufacturing and installation. Every project is different. Every detail matters.

You'll be trusted to identify construction challenges before they reach the shop floor, develop practical solutions, and ensure each project is accurate, buildable, and ready for production.

What You'll Be Doing

Produce detailed fabrication and installation shop drawings using AutoCAD. Convert architectural drawings, design concepts, sketches, and specifications into complete manufacturing packages. Detail custom millwork assemblies including: Cabinetry, Retail fixtures, Reception desks, Feature walls, Hospitality millwork, and/or Commercial interiors Specify materials, hardware, joinery, construction methods, finishes, and installation details. Engineer practical, efficient solutions that balance design intent with manufacturing requirements. Review project documentation and identify conflicts, missing information, or constructability concerns before production begins. Work closely with Project Managers, Production, CNC programmers, Purchasing, and Installation teams throughout the project lifecycle. Revise drawing packages throughout approvals, production, and site coordination. Participate in technical reviews to help ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking someone who has built a career producing technical shop drawings for custom commercial millwork—not someone whose experience is primarily residential cabinetry or interior design.

You should bring

5+ years of architectural millwork detailing experience. Advanced AutoCAD proficiency. Extensive experience producing fabrication-ready shop drawings independently. Strong understanding of commercial architectural millwork construction. Solid knowledge of: Cabinet construction, Joinery, Hardware systems, Veneers, Laminates, Solid surface materials, Wood products and/or Metal integration Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and consultant documents. Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on constructability and manufacturing efficiency. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, experience with any of the following would be considered an asset: Microvellum Cabinet Vision SolidWorks Inventor CNC manufacturing workflows AWMAC or AWI standards Hands-on cabinetmaking or woodworking experience Mixed-material detailing involving wood, metal, glass, acrylic, or specialty finishes

What You'll Work On

You'll contribute to custom commercial projects across a variety of sectors, including: Retail environments Hospitality Corporate offices Restaurants Institutional facilities Public spaces High-end commercial interiors

These are custom, project-based builds where technical expertise and attention to detail directly influence project success. Why Join Us?

You'll become part of a collaborative team that values craftsmanship, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

We offer

Permanent, full-time employment Competitive salary: $70,000–$85,000, with flexibility for exceptional experience Challenging, custom projects—not repetitive production work Opportunity to work alongside experienced Project Managers, Production teams, and skilled craftspeople Exposure to a wide variety of architectural millwork projects Long-term career growth as the organization continues to expand Stable, fully on-site work environment in Mississauga

Our Ideal Candidate

You're the person others turn to when they need to figure out how something can actually be built. You enjoy solving technical challenges before they become production problems. You understand that exceptional detailing is more than drafting—it's engineering, planning, and ensuring every component comes together seamlessly in the shop and in the field. If you take pride in creating accurate, intelligent shop drawings that drive successful projects, we'd like to hear from you.

Apply today and help bring some of Canada's most distinctive custom architectural millwork projects to life.
