Position Title: Accountant, Billing Company Name: CMH Heli-Skiing & Summer Adventures

Reports To: Manager, Accounting (interim reporting to Senior Accountant)

Location of Work: Banff or remote Alberta

Posting Close Date: This posting will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. The earliest posting close date would be November 7, 2025. Position Overview The Accountant, Billing is responsible for managing and executing billing processes for wholesale travel agents and tour operators who book heli-ski and heli-hiking packages. This role ensures that invoices are accurate, payments are processed in a timely manner, and all wholesale accounts are managed with professionalism and attention to detail. The position plays a key role in maintaining financial accuracy and supporting positive relationships with our partners.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Generate and issue invoices for wholesale bookings in accordance with contract terms, pricing agreements, and company policies.
  • Monitor accounts receivable for wholesale partners, track payments, and follow up on outstanding balances.
  • Reconcile payments received with invoices and booking records to ensure accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the reservations and sales teams to confirm booking details, adjustments, and commission structures.
  • Maintain organized records of invoices, payments, credit memos, and communication with agents.
  • Respond to billing inquiries from wholesale partners promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and ensure timely adjustments when required.
  • Provide regular reporting on wholesale billing status and aging accounts to management.
  • Support accounting team with month-end and year-end reconciliation processes.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to billing systems, workflows, and documentation practices.
  • Perform ad-hoc general accounting tasks as assigned
  • Help support implementation of CMH health and safety initiatives.
  • Help support implementation of CMH sustainability initiatives.
  • Train, participate in and provide support, as required, during emergency response situations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a professional office setting.
  • Previous experience in accounting, billing, or accounts receivable, ideally in the travel, hospitality, or tourism industry.
  • Proficiency with accounting or ERP software (preferably Dynamics 365) and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).
  • Proficiency in point of sale software preferred.
  • Knowledge of wholesale travel contracts, commission structures, or group bookings considered an asset.

  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office, as well as an ability to learn other relevant software platforms.
  • Able to prioritize tasks in a complex and fast-paced environment with seasonal workload fluctuations and changing priorities.
  • Confidence to interact with all levels of the company in a hub-and-spoke model in which many individuals are remote.
  • Trustworthy, goal-oriented, respectful, and self-directed in completing the core functions of the role.
  • Sees projects through to completion including follow-up on any identified issues.
  • Strong sense of work ethic and accountability, with an ability to function well in a team environment and focus on team success.
  • Effectively prioritize tasks, responsibilities, and goals; use goals to guide actions and create detailed action plans.

Working Conditions

  • Office-based or remote role. Must be available to work from office at own travel expense minimum 1-2 days per week.
  • Workload peaks during the fall and winter months, requiring flexibility with hours.
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on a constant basis.
  • This position is required, at times, to work on evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the needs of the business.
  • This position may require occasional travel to CMH areas, as well as some travel to industry functions on an occasional basis.
