About the role

We are looking for an HSE Summer Student to work alongside our site-based Health, Safety, and Environment team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in workplace safety and environmental compliance while supporting a dynamic manufacturing environment. You will assist with safety initiatives, compliance activities, and administrative tasks that help maintain a safe and healthy workplace.

  • Provide administrative support for the HSE team, including documentation, data entry, and record management.

  • Assist with maintaining training compliance records and scheduling safety-related training.

  • Support incident investigations by organizing documentation and tracking corrective actions.

  • Help prepare reports, presentations, and communication materials for safety programs.

  • Participate in safety observations and workplace inspections as needed.

  • Contribute to site safety programs such as JOHSC activities and emergency preparedness initiatives.

  • Complete a safety-related project during your term to improve site safety performance.

  • Be an onsite support in the plant.

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Health & Safety, Environmental Studies, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Comfortable engaging with employees and asking questions to learn and improve processes.
