We are looking for full-time, Position seeking long-term employment.
Job Title: Materials Coordinator
Job Summary: The Materials Coordinator is responsible for efficiently receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming shipments of goods and materials returned to the warehouse. This role ensures all documentation is accounted for and updates inventory in the system (Tori/ERP). The position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication with the warehouse team and other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receiving Shipments:
Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices.
Check for visible damages to items or packaging.
Record and log all incoming shipments into the warehouse management system (WMS).
Unload trucks and containers using forklifts or other material handling equipment.
Accurately count the quantity/weight of incoming shipments and returned materials.
2. Inventory Management:
Ensure proper storage of goods in designated areas to maximize space and efficiency.
Update inventory records and assist in maintaining accurate stock levels.
Conduct daily inventory checks and cycle counts.
3. Quality Control:
Inspect items for discrepancies or defects and report issues to the supervisor or procurement team.
Handle items carefully to prevent damage.
Verify item descriptions, quantities, and part numbers for incoming shipments and returned materials
.4. Documentation:
Maintain accurate and organized records of goods received.
Assist in creating reports and tracking discrepancies or damaged goods.
Communicate with the purchasing department about shipment issues.
5. Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety procedures when operating warehouse equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
Adhere to health and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
6. Collaboration:
Work closely with the warehouse team, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
Coordinate with shipping and inventory teams for timely distribution of received goods.
7. Other Duties:
Assist in the preparation of shipments when needed.
Participate in training programs for new warehouse technology or procedures.
Help with warehouse organization and housekeeping as required.
Manage carrier appointments.
Other duties as required by the Warehouse Supervisor or Manager.
Working Conditions:
Full-time position with regular working hours.
Physical work in a warehouse environment requires the ability to stand, bend, lift, and move items for extended periods.

The salary range for this position begins at $22.00/hour, however, the final compensation will be based on many factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialties and training. We strive to be competitive in the labour market, and the above range represents Tempo’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range at the time of posting.Ready to apply? Tempo Flexible Packaging is located just north of Toronto, Ontario. Our newly renovated and expanded 100,000 square foot facility is the foundation for the implementation of HACCP food safety programs.
Our custom, made to order products are supplied directly to manufacturers, food processors and advertisers. We offer full graphics capabilities produced on modern state of the art flexographic printing presses.
