Postdoctoral Fellow in Health Economics
Position 35719
We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellow in Health Economics within the College of Pharmacy, University of Manitoba commencing March 2, 2026. The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Dr. Shweta Mital on projects that investigate the economic value and preferences for novel health care interventions. This position presents an excellent opportunity for honing research skills in health economics and health technology assessment, conducting impactful research, gaining experience in mentoring junior trainees, and developing collaborations with academic and clinician colleagues.
Responsibilities:
The postdoctoral fellow will be involved in all aspects of the research projects including literature reviews, development and fielding of discrete choice experiment surveys, model development for economic evaluations, data analyses, manuscript writing and knowledge translation activities. There will also be opportunities for teaching and mentoring students.
Qualifications:
- A PhD (obtained within the last 2-3 years) with a specialization in health economics, health policy, health services research, epidemiology, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Strong applied econometric skills (or equivalent quantitative skills), including experience and proficiency using NLOGIT, STATA, SAS or similar software packages.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting discrete choice experiments and/or economic evaluations.
- Superior critical thinking ability and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Superior organizational and time management skills.
Additional Information:
The position is expected to commence as soon as possible and is expected to run for a 1-year period (renewal for 2nd year is contingent on satisfactory performance and future funding availability). This is a full-time position with a minimum starting salary of CAD 50,000 per annum (with benefits).
