We are currently seeking a Plant Controller for our site in St-Bruno de Montarville (Qc) .

Working schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 - 17:00

What Will You Do? The Controller is responsible for providing financial services and operational support to the Business Unit, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. This includes maintaining a sound internal control environment, timely and accurate financial reporting, supporting operating and financial reporting systems, and managing divisional assets, working capital, and cash flows. The Controller will advise management on technical matters and new developments affecting financial results or structure and ensure compliance with GAAP and relevant tax laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee development, implementation, and maintenance of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Manage billing, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, month-end closing, and audits.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information, supported by appropriate documentation and analyses.
  • Analyze and interpret technical accounting in compliance with GAAP
  • Direct efforts to maximize division cash flow, working capital, and return on invested capital.
  • Work with Project Management to understand and manage project cost, margin, invoicing, and risk.
  • Insure proper accounting in maintaining project cost (recorded costs, close projects, maintain related balance sheet accounts).
  • Calculate, monitor, and maintain revenue recognition based on percentage of completion principles (ASC606 standards).
  • Provide financial analysis of current and future performance to enable management to better manage the division.
  • Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Develop, communicate, and execute annual budgets and business plans in conjunction with the Finance Director.
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze actual results compared to forecast and budget.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, partnership, collaboration, and teamwork across divisions and with Shared Services (IT, Engineering, HR, Legal, Quality).
  • Advise management of relevant technical matters or new developments affecting financial results or forecasts.
  • Ensure all financial and reporting changes directed by management are implemented immediately.
  • Assist in developing plans to drive continuous improvement throughout critical business functions.
  • Ensure safe work practices and maintain the goal of zero lost time incidents.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require… Primarily on site at St-Bruno-de-Montarville (Québec)

Essential Your Experience Should Be...

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Working knowledge of ERP project management systems and financial reporting systems (Sage / OneStream a plus).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Software.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills to understand variances between target and actual results.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Strategic leadership skills to assess business issues, develop action plans, and ensure commitment to deliver expected results.
  • Broad business knowledge, including understanding profitability, quality, sales, forecasting, and product development.
  • Ability to interact with diverse global cultures and demonstrate effective communication and team-building skills.
  • Positive attitude, ethics, and values to support the company's mission and high-performance culture.
  • Bilingual French (Fluency level spoken and written), English ( Functional level spoken and written)

French is the primary language used on site.

The requirement for a language other than French for this position is determined based on the responsibilities associated with the position, which require daily collaboration with colleagues, teams, and partners outside Quebec. The majority of our clients (over 95%) are companies outside Quebec.
