A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Head of Finance for our Instrument Transformers division, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and operational success of the business. You’ll be a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and a key member of the leadership team, driving financial performance and enabling data-driven decision-making. This role reports directly to the VP of Finance - Trench Canada and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with business objectives. You will be accountable for the execution of financial activities including budgeting, forecasting, controlling and analysis.

Your Tasks:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive financial strategy aligned with corporate objectives, focusing on revenue growth, profitability, and sustainable cash flow.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership, influencing key decisions with robust analysis and forecasting.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles, ensuring alignment with operational targets and strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with department heads to monitor budget adherence and proactively address variances.
  • Continuously refine financial models and planning tools to improve accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Oversee the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and management reporting packages.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend actionable insights to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Approve pricing strategies, capital expenditures (CapEx), operating expenses (OpEx), and financial terms in partnership with the Managing Director.
  • Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and margin enhancement.
  • Drive initiatives to optimize working capital and improve cash conversion cycles.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure financial data integrity and operational transparency.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion professional development and succession planning within the finance function.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to enhance financial literacy across the organization.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience leading finance teams in a make-to-order manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient with SAP.
  • Proven track record in continuously improving financial processes.
