About the role

24/7 Occupational & Emergency Medicine Solutions is looking for strong, flexible primary care paramedics to work at a remote mine in Northern Ontario. This low volume practice would see the AEMCA-certified paramedics supporting remote drilling operations as part of a mining exploration program. The PCP would be supported remote by a team of ER physicians and the drilling locations are a short helicopter ride away from our Occupational Health Clinic located at the Orla Musselwhite Mine which is staffed with physician assistants and RNs.

Above industry standard compensation, fully covered flights to and from site, 24/7 access to on-call doctors for support, multiple project locations, and a COR Certified safety program are just some reasons to join the 24/7 OEMS team.

The Ontario Certified Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) will be expected to practice within the medical directives and formulary as approved by the 24/7 OEMS Medical Director. The PCP will work as part of the on-site and remote clinical team and have access to our 24/7 on-call emergency medicine consultants. Prior experience in occupational medicine and or the provision of care in a remote setting would be an asset.

This position is seasonal and commences October 20, 2025 and runs through to end-December. It is anticipated the program will resume again for several months during the spring thaw. Paramedics that are scheduled for and complete the first rotation, starting on October 20, will receive a $1000.00 signing bonus.

Overview:

  • Location: Remote drilling platform (fly-in/fly-out via Thunder Bay)
  • Coverage: 24/7 on-site presence at the platform with access to a Weatherhaven shelter
  • Shifts: 12-hour day and night shifts (one medic on days, one on nights)
  • Rotation: Two weeks on / two weeks off, alternating teams
  • Duties: Provide medical support for any injuries or illnesses on-site
  • Support: Full access to our emergency medicine team for consultation
  • Travel: All travel, including to and from Thunder Bay, is covered
  • Contract Duration**:** October 20 – December 31, 2025 (TBC - may cease operations prior to 25 December)
    • Coverage will likely be required for the Spring thaw for two months
  • Requirement: Must be AEMCA-certified

The PCPs will be expected to:

  • Provide emergency medical care to injured or ill workers, including making transport decisions within their scope of practice.
  • The PCP approved scope of practice will primarily align with their provincial licensing / governing body, including delegated medical acts approved by the 24/7 OEMS Medical Director, individual competence and training in selected skills, urgency of patient condition, and on-site medical resources.

Qualifications:

  • Ontario Advanced Emergency Medical Care Assistant (AEMCA) certification (Required)
  • BLS (Required)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly rate is equivalent to $600 plus 4% (in lieu of vacation) per 12-hour day
    • $1000 bonus to be provided to PCPs upon scheduling and completion of the 20 October to 03 November rotation

Schedule:

  • Shifts: 12-hour day and night shifts (one medic on days, one on nights)
