The Senior Manager, Repairs & Warranty will lead the airline’s component repair and warranty recovery program, including oversight and execution of contracted repair programs (Power-by-the-Hour, Fixed Price, Time & Material). This role ensures timely turnaround of repairable parts, cost optimization, and management of reverse logistics to minimize exposure to late fees and ensure contractual compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Repair Cycle Management
- Oversee end-to-end repair processes for all fleets, including repair order creation, vendor coordination, and turnaround time monitoring.
- Implement strategies to reduce repair cycle time and improve part availability.
- Sponsor integration & enhancement of systems such as eMRO to automate workflows and reduce manual errors.
Contracted Repair Programs
- Manage execution of Power-by-the-Hour, Fixed Price, and Time & Material contracts.
- Monitor vendor performance against contractual SLAs and escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure accurate tracking of contract entitlements and compliance with terms.
- Drive timely reverse logistics for unserviceable parts to minimize late fee exposure and maintain contractual compliance.
Warranty Recovery
- Develop and execute a structured warranty recovery program to maximize financial returns.
- Track and dispute vendor charges where applicable; ensure timely claim submissions.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and compliance.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure strict adherence to the company’s Safety Management System (SMS) policies.
- Maintain compliance with Transport Canada, FAA, EASA, and ICAO regulations for repairable components.
- Conduct regular audits of repair and warranty processes to identify risks and corrective actions.
Vendor & Cost Management
- Negotiate repair contracts and monitor vendor performance against SLAs.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives, reducing late fees and overvalued repair quotes.
- Collaborate with Engineering on reliability initiatives and component performance analysis.
Tooling Program Management
- Ensure all tools and GSE meet calibration, certification, and safety requirements.
- Oversee tooling lifecycle management, including acquisition, maintenance, and retirement.
- Improve tooling availability and control processes to support line and heavy maintenance.
- Develop KPIs for tooling utilization, calibration compliance, and turnaround times.
- Manage relationships with tooling and GSE suppliers for procurement and repair services.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and develop a team of repair and warranty specialists.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Aviation Management, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a leadership position.
- 8+ years in aviation supply chain or MRO environment, with experience in repair cycle management and contract oversight.
- Strong knowledge of SMS principles and aviation regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to manage large budgets and vendor relationships.
