Position Purpose:
As a Purchasing Assistant, you will administer daily purchasing procedures, conduct administrative tasks, and provide support activities that contribute to the purchasing department running efficiently. You will manage purchasing processes, maintain various reports, and communicate with internal and external customers. A successful candidate will be detail-oriented, able to handle a multitude of tasks, and collaborate with buyers to add value for all of our vendors and customers.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with data entry of items and vendor set-up in AS400 and SAP. Receiving and reviewing purchase order confirmations; coordinating any changes. Updating and tracking promotions via spreadsheets and other reports. Communicating daily with buyers. Creating and maintaining weekly/monthly reports. Collaborating with internal departments to ensure product is received in for billing. Ensuring order confirmations with vendors. Operating internal computerized inventory system and processing manual orders. Maintain documents, filings, and other reports in accordance too policies and practices. Assisting buyers with item maintenance and customers service inquiries. Managing data entry, product availability, shipment timing, and special outbound shipments.
Required Qualifications
Ability to communicate effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
Strong proficiency with Excel (Lookups and Pivot Tables)
High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
1 to 3 years of related experience in a purchasing environment or related field.
Familiarity and working knowledge of AS400 and SAP.
Ability to analyze multiple forms of data as it relates to the decision-making process.
Compensation
$24.04/hr
