Regional Manager, Operations (Kelowna)
The Regional Manager, Operations reports into the Regional Director, Operations. This role will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a group of airports to ensure contract requirements and KPI’s are achieved. The Regional Manager, Operations will have a strong understanding of customer service excellence, CATSA operational expectations and procedures, labour relations, training and workforce optimization. This will be accomplished by:
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple airports within the region.
- Ensure consistent implementation of and adherence to required policies, procedures and standards.
- Drive operational efficiency, quality and client satisfaction.
- Lead, coach and develop site managers and regional support staff.
- Manage employee performance, including talent development and succession planning.
- Foster a strong culture of accountability, safety and engagement within the workforce.
- Work closely with People & Culture to conduct investigations, manage employee performance and absenteeism.
- Monitor KPI’s, analyze performance and implement corrective actions.
- Manage regional TWH efficiency targets, forecasts and cost controls.
- Execute regional strategies to align with company goals.
- Lead change management initiatives, new airport screening initiatives and process/procedural roll outs.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, safety and company requirements.
- Identify operational risk and implement mitigation plans.
- Ensure all contractor-led training responsibilities are fulfilled per contract requirements.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure operation requirements are met
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Criminology, Social Sciences or a related field;
- A minimum of five (5) years of supervisory/managerial experience in an operational, customer service or security environment.
- Strong operational leadership and decision-making skills in fast-paced, regulated environments.
- Analytical mindset with data driven decision making ability.
- Effective communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and process improvement skills.
- Able to travel frequently within the assigned region.
- Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and foster effective working relationship across a variety of stakeholders.
- Proficiency with standard office software (Word, Excel, Power Point).
- Knowledge of security operations, regulatory frameworks, and employment legislation.
- An understanding of collective agreements and experience managing within a unionized workforce.
- Fluency in French is considered an asset.
- Eligible to obtain Transportation Security Clearance (TSC) and Federal Security Clearance.
