JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Manager, Vendor and Contract Management, the Vendor and Contract Management Specialist (VCM Specialist) is integral in supporting the delivery and continuous improvement of AGLC’s Vendor and Contract Management (VCM) program.

The VCM Specialist will contribute to establishing strong vendor partnerships, ensuring compliance with procurement policies and legislation, and optimizing value from contracts. This position also plays a key role in the development of a Strategic Sourcing program, supporting enterprise-wide procurement excellence.

  • Deliver and support the Vendor and Contract Management program, including stakeholder training, tools, and processes
  • Lead contract lifecycle activities, including kick-off meetings, performance reviews, and contract close-outs
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations (e.g., KPIs, scope)
  • Investigate vendor performance issues and recommend appropriate resolutions
  • Support development of VCM frameworks, templates, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate contract data and records within the contract management system
  • Conduct market research and analyze vendor spend to identify opportunities and efficiencies
  • Support the development and execution of strategic sourcing plans
  • Collaborate across business units to leverage procurement opportunities
  • Participate in contract negotiations to secure optimal value and alignment with AGLC requirements
  • Support procurement education and training initiatives

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • University degree in Business or a related discipline

  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in vendor management, contract management, or strategic sourcing

  • Experience managing goods and services contracts within a complex organization

  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and applicable trade legislation.

  • Experience in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and process improvement

  • Familiarity with contract management systems and standard office tools

  • Professional procurement designation or certification (e.g., Supply Chain Canada, IACCM, NIGP) is an asset
