The Granite Club is looking for a part time Bridge Instructor who will be responsible for all aspects of directing Bridge games and instructing group classes at various levels of Bridge ability.

Primary Responsibilities
Bridge Game Directing:
- Ensuring that the Bridge games are set up in an appropriate manner for Bridge play by setting up table cards, bidding boxes, bridgemates and computer software.
- Great each Member and distribute Bridge entries as players arrive.
- Ensure that pencils and convention cards are available to the player as they arrive.
- Make any game related announcements as required.
- Distribute boards and ensure punctual progression of the game.
- Resolve all Director calls in a professional manner.
- Keep and use a copy of the ACBL Laws book.
- At the end of the game print out a list of results and announce winners in each stratification
- Print out individual summaries as requested.
- Pack up all Bridge equipment including boards, table cards, bridgemates, bidding boxes, pencils, etc. and return them to the correct storage cart.
- Upload game results to ACBL Live and leave a hard copy of results in the assigned folder.
Bridge Instruction:
- Prepare detailed lesson plans for each lesson
- Ensure that a class list is obtained and an accurate attendance record is taken
- Ensure that the Card and Games Room is set up in an appropriate manner with bidding boxes and boards set up as necessary.
- Prepare lesson handouts as necessary.
- Answer all questions from Members in a professional manner.
- At the end of each lesson ensure that all equipment is put away
- Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Member of the ACBL.
- Previous ACBL Duplicate directing experience.
- Experience instructing various levels of classes.
- Certified ACBL teacher
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent Member relations, ability to problem solve.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to handle multiple priorities and interruptions.
- Computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Internet, E-mail, PowerPoint.
- Proficient in using ACBL software
- Community college or university degree an asset.
- Membership in ABTA and/or Best Practices teaching certificate an asset.
