Your Opportunity:
This Care Manager (CM) position is part of a dynamic team where inspired leadership and accountability is shared. The successful individual will provide direct clinical oversight for the day-to-day operations of the Children, Youth and Families, Addiction & Mental Health (AMH) programming connected with the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
Description:
The CM will ensure that teams deliver efficient, effective, and high-quality services to children, youth and families presenting with addiction and mental health concerns. The CM will bring an inquisitive, respectful, and accountable approach to the role, supporting the growth and development of staff and services through a quality improvement mindset. The CM will maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners across the continuum of care, working closely with all stakeholders including team members; children, youth, and families; physicians; Children Services; and other child and family serving agencies. The CM will use information from many sources to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of how resources are being utilized and will maintain a quality improvement mindset. While not responsible for the overall budget of the program, the CM is expected to have an awareness of expenditures and cost drivers impacting the budget and to communicate this to the Program Manager. The CM will have the opportunity to recruit highly skilled and committed staff. A working knowledge of the Collective Agreements (HSAA, AUPE and UNA) is required, as is an ability to deal effectively with performance issues. The CM will also be responsible for recruitment, scheduling employees, approving vacation and reinforcing the importance of staff attendance, and reliability.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a health services discipline (i.e., Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing); equivalent education and experience may be considered. Registration with professional association/college is required. Minimum of 5 years of front line experience with demonstrated informal leadership competencies (e.g. participation on committees/projects, leading peers, consulting to management, conducting education, sitting on external boards, involvement with professional association etc.). Previous management experience in a progressive environment is required.
