Job Title: SAP Systems Analyst – SAP HANA / SQL Specialist Location: Remote, Canada Duration: 6-month contract, with strong possibility of extension Industry: Telecommunications
About the Role We are seeking an experienced SAP Systems Analyst to support a major telecommunications client’s enterprise reporting and financial systems. This role will support a business-critical financial reporting application within an established SAP HANA environment, with a focus on SQL development, stored procedures, SAP HANA data modelling, code analysis, reporting support, and documentation. The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, technically strong, and comfortable reviewing existing code to understand business logic and system functionality.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze, maintain, and enhance SAP HANA-based reporting applications.
- Develop, modify, and optimize complex SQL queries and stored procedures.
- Review existing SQL code, stored procedures, and SAP HANA models to understand business logic and system functionality.
- Reverse-engineer legacy reporting logic and translate it into clear functional and technical documentation.
- Support reporting solutions built on SAP HANA data models.
- Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify enhancements and resolve production issues.
- Participate in testing, validation, QA, and reporting accuracy checks.
- Support modernization initiatives and future cloud migration efforts where applicable.
Required Skills
- Strong experience as an SAP Systems Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Application Developer, or similar role.
- Advanced SQL development experience, including complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with SAP HANA.
- Strong understanding of SAP HANA data modelling.
- Experience supporting SAP reporting, BI, or financial reporting applications.
- Ability to analyze existing code and extract underlying business rules.
- Strong technical and functional documentation skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with WebI / Web Intelligence reporting.
- Experience with SAP BI tools.
- Exposure to GCP, BigQuery, or cloud migration initiatives.
- General ERP experience.
