Program Operations Manager
About the role
OVERVIEW
The Program Operations Manager, Family Medicine Education supports the operational delivery of postgraduate and undergraduate medical education within the Department of Family Medicine at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), an official teaching site of the University of Toronto’s Department of Family and Community Medicine.
As the largest Family Medicine training site within DFCM, MGH supports over 30 Family Medicine residents annually, in addition to undergraduate medical learners completing core rotations.
Working closely with Department leadership, Program Directors, Site Education Leads, Family Medicine Teaching Unit (FMTU) sites, and the Medical Education office, this role ensures coordinated, efficient, and high-quality execution of education programming across clinical sites.
The position focuses on operational integration, scheduling coordination, learner support, compliance oversight, and process optimization. The role requires strong collaboration across departments and sites to ensure seamless program delivery and alignment with university and accreditation standards.
EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree in Health Administration, Business, Science, Commerce, or related field required.
QUALIFICATIONS

7–10 years of progressive experience in healthcare within an academic environment

Experience supporting medical education programs preferred

Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex operational processes across multiple stakeholders

Experience with scheduling systems and academic tracking platforms

Financial coordination and reporting experience
Skills & Competencies:

Strong organizational and systems coordination skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

High level of discretion and professionalism

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced academic setting

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Good work and attendance record required.
