Under the same ownership since 1988, our Company is implementing a significant growth strategy and is looking for a full-timeAccountantto join the team! This role is open as part of a planned retirement transition.
Reporting to the Finance Team Lead, this role plays a key part in supporting the organization's financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, including reconciliations, ledger maintenance, banking operations, and financial reporting, while working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance.
This role will be based out of our Belleville office location, Monday to Friday. Our business hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm.
The salary range for this position is**$65,000to$70,000**, based on experience.

Key areas of responsibility:

Financial Statements and Budgets
-
- Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements and Budgets under supervision.
- Maintain accurate records and receipts to support compliance with organizational policies.
- Perform daily, monthly, and yearly transaction reconciliations for multiple accounts.
- Prepare basic financial reports, including balance sheets and Profit and Loss Statements.
- Assist with cash flow tracking and preparing supporting data for forecasting purposes.

Banking and Financial Transactions

- Handle routine banking operations, including deposits, withdrawals, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate entry and reconciliation of corporate credit card transactions.
- Review and organize bank statements, identifying and addressing discrepancies as needed.
- Act as a point of contact for routine interactions with banking institutions.
- Facilitate basic banking activities, such as processing wire transfers and account adjustments.
- Assist with monitoring cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.

Bookkeeping and Data Entry

- Perform accurate data entry for financial transactions, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure transactions are posted in a timely manner.
- Manage vendor invoices and ensure timely payment.
- Handle payroll-related data entry and reconciliations.
- Organize financial documents and supporting materials for audits and internal reviews.

Customer Service

- Perform accurate data entry for financial transactions, including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
- Provide customer service support to resolve financial disputes and inquiries.
- Communicate with vendors and clients to address routine financial questions or concerns.
- Support the Controller and team members with administrative financial tasks.

Process Management
-
- Assist in maintaining and improving financial processes, including invoicing, reconciliations, and purchase orders.
- Ensure month-end processes are completed, inlcuding reconciling accounts and preparing summaries.
- Provide support for year-end reporting and financial documentation.
- Perform other bookkeeping and administrative duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have:
- A college diploma in Accounting or a related field is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial administration roles.
- Experience with A/P, A/R, and general ledger maintenance is required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including a strong working knowledge of Excel (vLook-up and pivot tables).
- Experience with accounting software (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar platform).
- Excellent organizational and documentation management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with the internal team and external stakeholders.
