Tomlinson’s Materials Group is looking for a Lead Hand of the Day Shift Operations Crew at our Bruce Mines Quarry.

**Schedule:**Day shift, Monday to Friday, 10-12 hour days.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work collaboratively and effectively with all team members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

• Provide onsite leadership in the absence of the Foreman, ensuring production activities continue safely, efficiently, and according to operational plans.

• Delegate daily tasks and support the execution of work assignments as directed by the Foreman.

• Track and monitor inventory, materials usage, and plant needs, documenting all shift activities including repairs and upcoming maintenance requirements.

• Work alongside others to ensure compliance with OHSA, company policies, and plant safety procedures.

• Make sound, unbiased non-critical decisions independently while escalating critical issues to the Foreman.

• Uphold and enforce all safety expectations including PPE use, lock-out/tag-out procedures, and hazard awareness.

• Troubleshoot production and equipment issues using strong problem‑solving abilities.

• Lead production-related projects around the plant, supporting planning, task coordination, and execution.

• Support Foreman-led disciplinary actions, ensuring consistency and professionalism.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of experience in a similar industry leadership role

• Leadership or crew‑lead experience considered a strong asset.

• Ability to interpret production goals and translate them into actionable tasks.

• Strong mechanical understanding of plant equipment and production flow.

• Knowledge of OHSA and safe work practices.

• Effective communicator with strong organizational and decision‑making skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Exposure to outdoor elements year‑round including heat, cold, snow, and rain.

• Requires walking, climbing, standing for extended periods, and performing physical maintenance tasks as needed.

• May require overtime, extended hours, and occasional weekend work depending on production demands

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The expected salary range for this position is $33.50 - $35.25 per hour. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
