

Project Coordinator (Land Development and Shallow Utilities)
About the role
Job Summary The Project Coordinator (Land Development & Shallow Utilities) will support the successful delivery of residential, commercial, industrial, and mixed-use land development projects throughout the Greater Edmonton Capital Region. Reporting to the VP, Greater Capital Region Land Development, the Project Coordinator serves as the primary field and stakeholder liaison during the construction and servicing phases of land development projects. This role supports the coordination of shallow utility installations, municipal servicing requirements, contractor activities, and project schedules to ensure developments progress efficiently from construction through final acceptance.
Education & Qualifications Graduate of a recognized postsecondary institution with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma, or equivalent. Professional Engineer or CET designation, or eligible for registration with APEGA/ASET would be considered an asset. Minimum 3 years progressive project / field management experience would strongly be considered an asset. Familiarity with AutoCAD software. Up to date first aid and CPR certification. Valid driver’s licence with no at fault accidents.
Responsibilities Act as the primary field representative for active land development and shallow utility projects. Support the coordination of subdivision, commercial, industrial, and multi-family development projects during construction and servicing phases. Regularly attend project sites, participate in stakeholder meetings, monitor development progress, and coordinate communication between developers, municipalities, contractors, utility providers, and consulting teams. Monitor project progress against development schedules, servicing milestones, and construction timelines. Identify potential schedule impacts, servicing conflicts, utility constraints, and development-related risks. Escalate project concerns and recommend solutions to maintain project momentum and minimize delays. Conduct regular site visits throughout the Greater Edmonton Capital Region and surrounding municipalities. Track utility servicing requirements and coordinate schedules to align with overall development timelines. Assist in resolving conflicts between utility installations, civil works, municipal requirements, and development objectives. Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, action item logs, progress reports, and stakeholder updates. Track outstanding approvals, utility requirements, inspections, and project deliverables. Assist in coordinating inspections, deficiency reviews, and project closeout activities. Maintain awareness of municipal standards, development processes, and utility servicing requirements. Ensure all safety procedures and processes are followed with the goal of zero injury. Work safely and follow all rules and procedures including attending and participating in safety meetings and completing all required safety orientation and training.
