THE POSITION Keyera is currently seeking a Journeyman Instrumentation Technician for our Fort Saskatchewan location. This position is responsible for performing general maintenance and troubleshooting/repair duties for all Instrumentation equipment located within the Fort Saskatchewan facility.
This is a full-time position based on a 9/80 work schedule . Preference will be given to local candidates who are able to commute daily to the site.
Responsibilities
- Conduct predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance on all instrumentation and controls equipment.
- Actively support Operational Excellence and Asset Management & Reliability programs.
- Be an active participant in routine and shutdown/turnaround plant maintenance.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and optimize plant process control equipment such as control valves, transmitters, custody transfer meters, Analyzers and gas chromatographs.
- Organize and/or conduct daily instrumentation activities.
- Build and maintain procedures relating to Instrumentation Maintenance tasks.
- Supervise on site contractors providing job plans and mentorship as required.
- Order parts create work orders, and capture equipment history in Maximo.
- Must be able to work overtime and accept callouts as required.
Qualifications The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service oriented with the following qualifications:
- Journeyman Instrumentation Technician certification.
- Minimum 5-10 years' experience in similar role within the oil & gas industry.
- Dual Certification (Instrumentation & Electrical) is considered an asset.
- Commitment to the health and safety of yourself, team and site
- Tickets that include H2S Alive, WHMIS, First Aid certificates would be an asset.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Maximo or similar CMMS system.
- Self-starter who can work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to perform successfully in a work team environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license and ability to provide 5-year standard driver abstract (clean driver’s abstract).
- This role requires the candidate to wear respiratory protective equipment. As per Alberta OHS 250(2), the candidate must ensure an adequate seal where the face piece of the equipment seals to the skin of the face.
