Position Title: Part-Time Bus Driver
Location: Retirement Residence
Start Date: ASAP
Position Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Part-Time Bus Driver to support transportation needs for residents at our retirement home. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with seniors and can provide safe, friendly, and professional service during outings and appointments.
Schedule:
- Approximately 3–4 shifts per month
- Must have some weekday availability (occasional flexibility required)
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport residents to and from scheduled outings, appointments, and community events
- Operate vehicle lift equipment for scooters and wheelchairs
- Assist residents with boarding and exiting the bus in a safe and respectful manner
- Ensure all passengers are properly secured before transit
- Perform basic vehicle checks before and after use
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle
- Follow all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Communicate effectively with staff and residents
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Valid Class 4 Driver’s License (Restricted or Unrestricted – both accepted)
- Experience operating wheelchair/scooter lifts (or willingness to learn)
- Comfortable assisting seniors with mobility needs
- Clean driving record
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and patient demeanor
- Vulnerable Sector Check required
Assets (Not Required):
- Previous experience working with seniors
- First Aid/CPR certification
