Position Description

We are seeking a highly qualified candidate for a Assistant Research Technologist (ART) position in Infectious Diseases at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. The ART is responsible for applying research knowledge and skills to perform well-defined, routine and/or repetitive tasks or procedures. The Assistant Research Technologist also reports to the Principal Investigator(s) and/or Research Manager to assist in study-related activities. Research studies will focus primarily on infection prevention and control in schools.

Here's What You'll Get To Do:

  • Perform routine dry lab procedures
  • Prepare lab consumables (i.e. test kits), interact with participant specimens (saliva and swab samples)
  • General maintenance of dry lab space
  • Be responsible for accuracy of techniques, using established policies and procedures to resolve routine problems

Here's What You'll Need:

  • Post secondary education
  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communication
  • Previous experience in a dry lab setting is preferred
  • Previous experience in a pediatric setting is preferred
  • Previous experience with clinical research is preferred
  • A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives

Employment Type: Temporary 1 year contract, 0.80 FTE
